Do You Scrap Sad?

I don't know about you but I usually scrap the happier stories in life.
The holidays, the parties, the days out, you know the ones
BUT
the joining in with a prompt for LOAD I decided to go sad.
We were asked to scrap about a pet and this photo had been ready in my collection for a long time and although it looks like a happy photo, the story behind it is sad.

Taking the photo whilst holding back the tears was difficult especially knowing that he
wouldn't be there when she got home.
These two were best buddies but the time had come to let him go.
I dreaded her coming home from school but she was very brave, far braver than me in fact!

So, before I get my keyboard any wetter, do you scrap sad?

  1. That is a pretty layout with lovely colors, but the fact is, it does makes me feel sad for the story, I have a dog and can't imagine the day we have to part, just this morning, he went for his 6 months regular check up and I have to bear with a home without him for 6 hours, it seems crazy that I feel that the house is so quiet even when he doesn't make a noise when he is at home. sigh.... I don't want to think....

    1. We have had two since - one put to sleep at just under two years old for severe epilepsy and the one we have now who will be our last - it doesn't get any easier losing them!!!

  2. Nope I don't scrap sad, just too painful sometimes as your wet keyboard will stand testament to - sadness is documented through my art journalling if i'm honest

  3. I don't scrap sad as often as I should. Because I do think it's a good idea to leave a record of how we felt about something sad, just in case someone finds it years from now and it's a help to them or gives them something to think about

  4. My heart goes out to you, Lesley. I think that scrapping makes great therapy for sad times in our lives. You made such a beautiful memory of your beloved dog.

  5. I've had some pretty awful things happen over the past 3 years, and I still haven't managed to scrap them. It's hard, but it know time will come when I do.

I think this is a beautiful tribute to a sad thing.

  6. I scrap sad, its hard to do at times but its part of life too. As sad as the story behind the photo is it is a beautiful photo and deserves to be remembered :)

  7. I think you've scrapped a celebration of love and innocence beautifully. Our scrapbooks should reflect all aspects of life - as you've shown, it's possible to tell any story.
