Rockin' My World!

Last week I joined in Virginia's Rocking Your World Friday and already another week has gone by and I'm back to reflect on my week and take stock.

Sunday, although we're still not allowed to watch, Imogen got 5 runs in her cricket match. Even though the team lost, she and us were delighted as she has always been afraid to pad up before now. I think her confidence is starting to grow.

Monday started out with my daughter going on her first date. Although very shy, first impressions of George by Mum and Dad are good!!!

Imogen completed her Be a Good Zookeeper at Chester Zoo on Wednesday. Working with the tropical birds she had a better than expected time. Unfortunately for me, I had 5 hours to kill and ended up rocking my credit card so I will be going home every day next week but one when she's at the zoo every day!!! I've got a fabulous new ring though :)

One of my school friends lost her Dad this week. I cannot possibly imagine what she must be going through but one thing I do know is that I will always cherish every moment I have with my parents and those people around me that I love dearly.

Afternoon tea with champagne on Thursday in Chester with my girl was yummy, just look at these delights that we had to force ourselves to eat - bang went the diet!

This week also saw me hand over the Guide accounts. This was the last of many things that I used to do for other people and I am now free to please myself and do what I like when I like.
There are so many ungrateful people in this world and I've allowed myself to be walked over too many times - it stops here - I can say "NO"

Has anything much rocked your world this week?

  1. MMm blogger being a bit naughty this morning, it just got rid of my message! So let's try again.

WTG daughter on her achievements in cricket and growing in confidence, something that all parents want!

First date - gulp - glad it got the seal of approval.

Giggling at you rocking the credit card - I did that yesterday when my car was in for MOT - what was I thinking!

Afternoon tea looks lovely and you can always start dieting tomorrow LOL!

Thinking of your friends sad loss, losing a parent is never easy at any age.

WTG you for identifying where you can make changes and changing things, being taken for granted is not something that any of us like so well done for acknowledging that things need to change. Hopefully you can now spend your time in pursuit of something that will benefit more than just the other party.

And finally thank you for joining in, it's lovely to meet another Rockette, may your next 7 days be filled with positives!

    Hugs

  2. Yes, you can say NO and be guilt free! Well done.

You made me laugh about your new ring :D I can relate to that. Beans on toast for the rest of the week then, is it?!

A day being a zookeeper at Chester Zoo sounds like a wonderful experience, it's the kind of thing my daughter would love to do too.

    Afternoon tea? Yummy!

    Wishing you a super weekend,

    x

  4. Good for you saying no, its easier said than done at times isn't it, might need to take a leaf out of your book! Any pics of the ring? :) Glad date went well. :)

  5. Well done for cricket courage! I can't imagine first dates, but I am sure it will be here before I know it. I know all too well the danger of my credit card when I have some time to kill, enjoy the ring!!

The course sounds wonderful, something my daughter would love to do I am sure. I am also glad I was not around to be tempted by your afternoon tea, I am not sure my resolve to be sugar free would have held up.

Love this post, and your bravery to say no...it takes some courage in my experience, but the relief after is incredible!

    Have a good weekend.

  7. I want to be a zookeeper! Oh that sounds like fun!

I'm sure the credit card abuse was *ahem* very deserved? Yes, lets say that :)

I have yet to go through the first date with any of mine. I know it's looming with a 16 year old in the house. I think my OH will have a break down - he barely got through her attending prom :D

Well done on saying NO when it's needed - I'm just starting to as well ;)

Have a great week Lesley - it's lovely to see a new Rocker :)
