Go For It

I've been joining in with Counterfeiting for a few months now and always enjoy what the DT do and the challenges they come up with. The monthly blog hop inspires me to be creative and join in.

The kit I counterfeit every month goes with me to the monthly crop and it makes things so much easier.
I used to spend at least an hour trying to decide which bits of paper to use, but with my kit all nicely chosen in my 12x12 box, I can just get on and "do"

CKCB announced a Design Team Call a few days ago and after "umming" and "ahhing" I have decided to "go for it". I am sure there will be a huge amount of entries and I am under no illusion that my entry will be good enough but just the challenge is good enough for me.

So here's the criteria:

1.  Create a Counterfeit Kit based on your favorite online kit
**Including handmade pieces with tutorials is not required, but is a nice bonus for us to see how you do with it.

2.  Create a challenge make a project for that challenge

After surfing the net for a short while (about two hours!) I stumbled upon

I hate living in the UK sometimes as the postage and import tax from the US is incredibly expensive.
Since Sarah's Cards ceased their kits, I have struggled to find a decent, value for money kit.
That is until I realised what the Counterfeit Kit Blog was all about.
I have a massive amount of stash which I am constantly adding to so, each month I look forward to using some of it up.

I love the bright spring colours in this kit and all the polaroid bits and bobs.

First off, the easy bit, getting my plain cardstock together.
I then moved onto my patterned papers. I'm a bit of a TKMaxx/Homesense fan and my regular visits have resulted in an ever growing pile of 12x12 paper pads. I buy these pads to use in card making but my recent bargains have been far to nice to give away on cards!!
I then hunted for my white alphas (you can't really see in the picture, but some of the alphas are green and some are white) thinking I would use promarkers to colours the odd one in but came across two half used alphas sets, one in green and one in white - well that save me a job!

Now for the 12x12 polaroid, the cricut is calling for this one.
Using Make the Cut software, I made a file to cut 6 polaroids and I also have the negatives to play with too.
(I have no idea how to file share but if you want the *MTC file, I will happily send it to you)

Or you can just simply cut the frame then punch a shape.

I then went onto making those cute little circle elements.
I used the trial version of Serif Craft Artist although I do now know that I NEED the full version
(I can finally add to the stapler on my birthday list along with a 1.5" circle punch - OH and DD have been nagging for a birthday list for weeks)
Feel free to print mine to punch out or make your own using my tutorial below...

I then added yellow Sn@p alphas, twine, pegs and ribbon.

To complete my kit I added two homemade little envelopes using a template found HERE

Craft Artist Tutorial

Download Craft Artist HERE and install to your computer
Open a new blank project
Select the "ellipse" shape tool and drag cursor to insert the shape.
(It doesn't matter if it's not quite round as the next step rectifies this)
In the bottom right hand corner change the width and height to 1.1"
(I have made the circle slightly bigger than the 1" punch to avoid trying to line it up perfectly)
While your shape is still selected change the outline colour and fill colour in the top right hand corner of your screen.(My two colours are both the same at this stage)
You now need to create another circle with the same colour line as the last one but change your fill colour to white.
Drag another ellipse and change dimensions to 0.8 (width and height).
Now move this circle over the top of the first.
Click "arrange" and "align items".
Select "centre" for both vertical and horizontal, then "ok"
With both circles still selected click "group"
You now need to add your text.
Select "text" and drag the cursor onto your page.
Choose your colour and font, then type your text.
Move your text over your circle and resize using the arrows.
Again, select "select all" - you can do this from the "edit" menu.
You can now print your circle and cut out using a 1" punch or resize to suit your punch size.

I have put a picture tutorial together HERE

I would love you to pop back tomorrow to see my challenge
