... chipboard shapes.

Remember these from the Add-On Kit?

I decided to make some.

Firstly, I created a new document in Word and created all the shapes by >Insert>Shape 

I resized and played around until I was happy with my shapes then printed onto A4 card and cut out.

I have been unable to find a way of sharing a Word Document so here is a

 JPEG I created for you to print.

and hey presto, a bunch of shapes to use on your layouts...

Cheap and easy does it :)

 

Family Is...

I really love the Family is... collection from Bo Bunny.

Here is an A4 layout (I don't do many of those) of my Mum back in the 50s - I think the B&W photos work well with the paper colours.

What a poser!!!

 

This layout mainly uses Family is Fun with a few added wooden extras.

I'm quite liking the A4 size, maybe I should do more of these.

What size do normally scrap? Would you try a different size?

 

Moving On...

If you're a regular you will know that every month I receive a lovely bunch of goodies from 

Wearcrafts

and I can play as much or as little as I like with the contents.

Having run out of my Daily Grind stash I have moved on to the

Bo Bunny "Family is..." range

I absolutely love it!

Yesterday was crop day (I know I abandoned my daughter on her birthday but she DID give me permission) and I had fun putting this layout together of me and my girl looking very wind swept in the Everglades.

I have used Family Is and Family Is Fun as well as my white card stock background.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend - I'm off to the final Panto performance tonight with my girl - should be fun!!!

Subway Art

 
It's time for the first Counterfeit Kit Challenge of the year ...

 Challenge #1: Subway Art Challenge:
Use the subway art technique (using different colors/fonts in a block of writing like a title or journaling)

... and I have really enjoyed creating my own artwork using my Craft Artist software.

Granted, it's very simple compared to some that you see but I knew what I was trying to achieve and had fun doing so. 
Today is my daughter's 15th (yikes) birthday so this page sums her up as she celebrates 15 years in this world.

Before printing my Subway Art, 
I decided to resize it onto my 12x12 
so I would have more room for my photo and embellishments.
So here is how my background paper starts

and here is how it ended up with the added photo
 and items from "Scrappy New Year"

Bye Bye Daily Grind

I can honestly say I have loved working with "The Daily Grind"

It has so many uses and I found this last page in a flash of inspiration.

I was looking through our holiday photos and came across these two in their kayak.

We had asked for a kayak for 3 but were told they weren't available at the time.

We decided that DD and DH would just go off on their own following a loop on the map.

After taking these shots I was relating the story to the guy at the water's edge who said that was rubbish and promptly got me a kayak of my own (free of charge).

It was a bit surreal and I quickly paddled after them - I could see them in the distance but then they disappeared around a corner and I was in a big expanse of water all alone and suddenly realising I had no life jacket. I hadn't signed any forms - I could just go missing and nobody would know!!!

I paddled harder and turned the same corner and then I heard them....

I haven't added the expletives that were heard!!!

I have now used most of the Daily Grind collection so check back in a few days when I'll be back to show off the next collection supplied by the lovely Jen at Wearcrafts

It's Been a While...

...but last Friday I promised I would start Rockin My World Friday again with Virginia.

So here I am...

After all the chaos of Christmas, the weekend brought some nice quiet moments and I was able to start reading again. I haven't read a book in at least a year but I'm finding it difficult to put this one down that hubby bought me for Christmas

I started crafting again after a long break and promised myself that I would not leave projects until the very last minute this year so if you lovely readers could remind me of that every now and again I would be very grateful.

Having only put 1lb on over
Christmas I am ever more
determined to resist that
huge pile of goodies staring
at me in the kitchen.

Claus came out of hibernation
but going on last year,
he came out for a week to stuff his face
then slept again for a month - oh to be a tortoise!!!

A morning out in Chester (to use up a Groupon voucher which was due to expire) with my lovely daughter on Monday found us wandering down by the river in the rain.
We had a lovely lunch at The Cafe at the Walls.

A great New Year's Eve get together at Gillian's brought fun and laughter with some lovely people.
I had 3 helpings of the delicious Veggie Paella she had made especially for the 3 of us.
Thanks Gillian - you're a star.

Thanks to my lovely husband for a very welcoming lie in on Wednesday and and even bigger thank you to DD who cleaned, dusted and hoovered her room without being asked.

That book up there - I finished it and I'm now onto
"Diary of a Dog Walker"

I'm also loving the fact that my 2014 word "resolve" is doing what it should and I'm already finished with all my Counterfeit Kit work for January.

I had some "me" time while DD and DH took Olly for a long walk in the sunshine.
It's amazing how much you can get done with the music cranked up in an empty house!

DD took her new camera with her and here are two of my favourite pictures from those she snapped.

Let's hope we have lors more of these nice sunny days...
