Wearcrafts #1

Here we are again with another fabulous kit from Wearcrafts.
When I first looked at this one I thought I would be stuck for ideas
as it's very nautical.
Having served in the Royal Navy I knew I had a photo or two that would fit (and I will show you those at a later date) but what would
I do with anchors and your average photo...

Here is a non-nautical photo of the two of us on our wedding day to prove that this kit works.
So don't be put off by the anchors etc as it really does work with your more "normal" photo too!

Grab a kit NOW, they sell like hotcakes.

August Scavenging...

Can't believe the time is ticking away so fast and I still have things to find from
How many have you found so far?
Is there one that's just too elusive?

I think the juggler for me although I did get the one of hubby on the beach on my Barcelona hunt
so I could use that!

Anyway, onto what I found this month in the faraway land of Madagascar...

4. A group of tourists - yep that's US
6. An urban street scene - well it's urban to them
7. A rural landscape - couldn't get much more rural
8. A tattoo on a person - one of those sneaky photos
10. A photo bomb (someone found lurking in the background of photo; the lurker may have intended to disrupt the picture or may be doing it unintentionally, but the background lurker is a surprise to the photographer)
Photo bombed by a lemur!
11. A horn - A Horned Chameleon
13. A sunrise - so beautiful and very peaceful
14. A parade - of plates at the exhumation
16. A sign in a language other than English - A Malagasy sign
17. A lamp post
18. A water fall

So there we have it, not sure if I've ticked anymore off my list but there's still time right?

Dig it Out

Hi and welcome to my part in the August Counterfeit Kit Hop.
I hope you have hopped over from Elaine.
If not why not hit the start and see ALL the creations?

I had a fair bit of vellum in my kit.
Vellum is one of those "comeback" items don't you think?
I've had plenty sat in a cupboard for years and now it's making several appearances.
(It's hard to photograph though!)

I love this photo of the child and her friend taken in Spain and wanted to keep the layout "soft" to avoid taking the eye away from it.

It's now time to head off to see Laura, thanks for stopping by and see you soon.

Signs

The prompt this week is signs and I just love taking photos of signs.
Everywhere we go I always seem to come home with at least 4 or 5 photos of weird and wonderful signs.

This one, taken in Madagascar just two days ago is probably in amongst my favourites...

and here's me holding one of the little cuties...

I have so many photos to trawl through and I think my scrapbooking will be full on for a while!!!

Tipping!

I don't know about you but I hate the fact that people expect a tip when I'm on holiday and I've paid for that holiday!

However, saying that, we are currently in a place where some workers don't even get paid.
They get food and board only for the job that they do and boy do they work hard at it.

Before we left home I threw a few "Misaotra" cards together
to leave in our room with a small tip to show how much we appreciated their hard work.

The cards aren't the best but it's the tips inside they will be most interested in I'm sure!

Tick, Tick, Tick

another three ticked off my list!!!

7. A rural landscape

10. A photo bomb (someone found lurking in the background of photo; the lurker may have intended to disrupt the picture or may be doing it unintentionally, but the background lurker is a surprise to the photographer)

Not a great photo in any case but he always has to act the fool!

12. A mascot

Good old Pudsey at Carfest

and a few more of some I already have
11. A horn

Pretend the sign isn't there!

and the child was highly embarrassed when I chased this lad to ask if I could photograph his horny helmet!

Alternative B: A bird house
These bird houses were just fab, this one an old style camera!

So there we have it, a few more ticked off the list, still no sunrise!

Signs of the Times

Will you be joining in with the CH#2 over at the
Counterfeit Kit Blog today?
It's a sketch challenge and my assigned challenge for the month.
Here is the sketch to play along with...

...and here is my take on that said sketch on a 12x12 layout...

I always take photos of signs when we are on holiday
(I should have a scrapbook of signs really!)
and these three taken in Florida last year just had to make this page.
I especially love the one on the right although the glare from my photo obscures it slightly!

We were very lucky whilst there - as we drove down a track to view the alligators, a panther ran across the road in front of us.
Apparently only 5% of the Florida population have ever seen a Florida Panther!

Aromatic World

I love joining in with the prompts at

This week the prompt is aromatic and although I have no idea what
this Madagascan plant is, the smell is beautiful...

Me @ 44...

...is the topic over at

Challenge YOURself Blog

this month.

Ok so if you're not 44, then just change the number and get scrapping about YOU @ ??

I chose a difficult topic for this one as I (and others) have noticed a few changes in me
which I hope are just side effects of my medication.
I showed this layout to my husband who said...

"you're not like that ALL the time!"

Hmmm!

Anyway, that's me at 44.
I have more detailed journalling in the little vellum pocket up there on the right.

What are YOU all about at your "now" age?
Don't forget to include a photo of YOU on your layout!

Grumpy? Me?

Do you remember the lovely
I'm sure it will all be sold out by now
BUT
I had a few bits and bobs left which I wanted to put to good use.

I am in a Facebook group Sketchy Scrappers and the sketch for last month (yes, last month)
was this one.

I loved the layout and knew what I wanted to do with it with the few bits of the Success Kit
that I had left...

Oh how I'm turning into a grumpy old woman!!!!

Chocolate NO!

...Maltesers!

This week's prompt over at
is very easy for me!

On Friday I was telling my Slimming World group about this...

...my Easter Egg, given to me by him and the child on
April 20th this year.
Maltesers are probably my favourite chocolate
and I am so proud of myself that I have so far resisted the temptation.
Don't get me wrong - I have eaten chocolate since then but I know
that as soon as I open this, it will be gone!

So, my question to you - how long would it last in your house?

Love Me Not!

August 1st already and this month there has been a little shake up here in Master Forger Land.
Due to my June birthday I have moved up the reveal list and am no longer the top layer of Lisa's Lesley/Leslie sandwich!
(Lisa is now Susanne on toast!)

Sherri, a previous Master Forger and our Guest Designer for this month
 started the hop HERE
and then you will have found little me, LesleyG by hopping on from Stephanie (usually last) who came next.

You will already have seen the kits to choose from (if you started at the beginning) and I decided to go with the scrapbook kit

Well this month it has been difficult to find photos of the individual items and therefore my
usual reveal layout has taken a month off.
I will hopefully back to normality for the month of September.

So, what's in my kit?

Firstly there is no coloured card stock as I just don't use, if you know me and scrapbooking, my backgrounds are generally white so I will add that in as and when required.

My patterned papers...

My homemade transparency diamonds along with a few other bits so as not to waste any vellum...

and not forgetting the negative...

and I made my own cloud mask using acetate and, yes you guessed it, my Cameo
(terrible photo!)

I then added in some twine, some wooden hearts, a few stamps and a doily and if I need any extras along the way there may be a few additions from the card or project life kit.
I will also add cut alphas when required.

Then was the difficult naming ceremony - even though this kit is smaller than my usual monthly counterfeits, this is one kit that I really found hard to pull together and that's when the name was born
"Love Me Not!"
I hope I have more fun playing with it than I did creating it.
I hope you'll pop back during the month to find out!

So now it's time to move over to Toucan Scraps where you'll probably find a digi kit from Angela
BUT
before you go and IF you haven't already, why not LIKE us on Facebook and FOLLOW our Pinterest Boards.

Thanks for popping by today.
