Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Welcome to my first ever participation in a blog hop!!! This is the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop and I hope I get it right!!!

Hopefully you have found me by hopping over from Jemma's blog, but if not and you want to take part click HERE to get back to the start.

So the challenge was to design a layout using ONLY...
  • 3 patterned papers
  • 3 embellishments
  • a 3 word title
and what a challenge it turned out to be.
I'm normally quite a quick scrapper but with those ingredients I was STUCK!!!

Eventually, after trying 4 different photos and a variety of different papers, I managed my layout and then got stuck again on the title. So many 2 or 4 word titles jumped into my head but 3 words?

"My Little Mermaid" is probably one of the most difficult challenges I've attempted but I got there in the end.

I've used 3 papers, a 3 word title and my 3 embellishments include a brad on my circular photo which is allowing my photo to be hinged for journalling under, a string of beads under my title and a circular string frame around my photo.

 Thanks for hopping my way.
Please leave me a comment before hopping over to Lucinda's blog.

  1. Nice page - I like the string frame and the circular photos. Isn't it funny how a challenge like this can cause such confusions? You'll come up with three word titles for ages now....

  2. LOL - when I made my page I'd forgotten all about the 3 word title bit so more fortuitous chance!
Love the string and gems contrast (Lis H interpreted it as 3 types of embellie LOL - I think I'm a bit too literal!)

  3. For being stuck, you created a wonderful page!

  4. It turned out just lovely! I like the frame of string!

  5. love the complexity :-) love the 2 circles!

  6. I love your title work and the string frame!

  7. I love twisting the rules - three items or three types? whatever works! Your pp background looks great. I don't do that much any more (this is my second stop on the hop and I've already noticed two things I really like and two things I don't do enough of these days - ha ha!) And the frame around the photo is just lovely. Lovely to have you hopping today!

  8. I too struggled with the 3- who knew it'd be a challenge!! Love the arrows in a major way.

  9. What a great idea to journal under a swiveling circle! Great page!

  10. Love the simple design of this page and the circles you've used!

  11. Wonderful layout! I agree that the simple design worked fantastically well for you here!

  12. I love the string around her face, it frames her so beautifully!

  13. Isn't it funny how sometimes the simpler the challenge, the more challenging it IS? I find the same thing, but it's one of those things that make you think outside your box!
What a lovely page! you really did "rise to the challenge" :~)

  14. I've just had a flick through - you have been busy this month and your LOs are lovely.

  15. Great page. I love the patterns you chose.

  16. Love the string frame-such a great idea to highlight the photo that way.

  17. A very clever page and you have an attractive mermaid.

  18. Fabulous page, Lesley - you've started your blog hopping participation in style. Love the idea of hinging the photo to hide the journaling - clever.

  19. you did a fabulous job with this challenge, well done for persevering with it.
    blessings to you from Angela

  20. love those arrows... and what lovely pics!

Thank you so much for leaving me some love!
