Rooooccccckin'!!!

Today, just before my Rockin post I am sharing my last layout
created with the gorgeous 12 Pledges Kit from
Wearcrafts
This one is a lot plainer than the other 3 but I really enjoyed using my stamps
(with I neglect far too often) to create a bit of a background.
I also made the flair using my Badge It
(I think that will be coming out more often from now on too!)
If you weren't lucky enough to grab the kit whilst it was still available
make sure you grab the March one at the end of the month
(I've seen the pictures!!!!)

So, onto my reasons for being happy this week....

Oh how I squealed for joy this week when that telephone call came.
For 5 years my Mum has been having yearly check ups after
overcoming bladder cancer.
On her last check up back in December they found "something"
and we've all been secretly worried that it had come back.
Mum was very brave and it didn't seem to bother her,
like she had a sixth sense and knew it would all be OK.
She was RIGHT - happy days - she was given the
ALL CLEAR
on Monday and a few tears of relief and
happiness flowed.

We tend to go through life thinking that these things really
aren't bothering us - they do and it affects how we behave
and how we react.
Our sensitivity levels are reduced and maybe our tolerance to others changesduring those worrying times.
So here's my apology to those who I may have snapped at, not had the time for or generallyjust couldn't be arsed to listen to.

Normal service is resumed :)
Maybe we should all think about what others are going through before we judge their actions or words.

I wasn't looking forward to a  night out watching Bastille with DD
at the Manchester Apollo but I actually quite enjoyed it
and they probably have a new fan.
The support act was truly awful and the only words I could make out were
the "s" word and the "f" word.
Maybe I'm just getting too old!

DD had her Fire Cadet interview on Saturday.
Every two years they raise money go to a 3rd world country and build a school.
From 36 cadets, 16 will be chosen to go to Nepal in 2015
to help build a
She is so desperate to go and thinks her interview went well.
Please keep your fingers crossed for her.
Roll on March 12th when we can either celebrate
with her or pick up the pieces!

Today, Friday the 7th of March is
TARGET DAY.
I joined Slimming World back in November and decided a few weeks ago
that today would be target day, no matter what I weighed, that was it.
So just over a stone and a half lighter and able to get into size 8 jeans...

To celebrate I'm having a bowl of my all time favourite food
for my lunch, risotto and garlic bread for tea
and a lovely bottle of red to share with DH
in front of the TV later.

I've had such a great week - what have you been up to?
Why not let us all know and link up with Virginia over on her blog post

SIPIDI Galore!!!

I've been playing catch up with cards today and 4 out of the seven
were all inspired by Pinterest, see if you can guess which
ones by looking at my boards.
Last month Fiona came up with a brand new meme
See It Pin It Do It
Have you joined in yet?

That's another 7 ticked of the list that my sister gives me
every year.

Are you a card person or just a scrapbooker?
I started out with cards and moved on.
I don't really look forward to making cards anymore but
once I start I do quite enjoy it and I get pretty
good feedback from the recipients!

Probably My Favourite

Good morning!
Well I did promise that I would be back to ahre another layout from the
This paper just has to be my favourite, very lacy and pretty.
It looks as though it has an overlay of lace to be honest, even in the flesh
(or paper!)
I didn't want to hide much of the paper as I wanted to give this layout
a "girly" effect. I know, I'm not normally but we can have a change once in a while
can't we?

See that cute little paperclip up there on the left?
They are from the Prima range - Stationer's Desk.

As I said before this kit has sold out so get those fingers poised
at the end of March if you've been unlucky this time.
Surely you don't want to miss out again do you?

Flying Out the Door

That's exactly what has happened to the Wearcrafts February 12 Pledges Kit
and I'm not surprised.
It is so versatile. A few days ago I posted a fun layout using the gogeous
Authentique papers and today I'm here to share
a more serious, heritage kind of layout.

I have two more layouts to share in the coming days and all out of  a kit that only costs £5.
If you haven't seen these kits, you really don't know what you are missing and be
sure to get in quick for March's kit as I promise it is just as lovely
and great value for money.

There is also an add on available but, once again, these have sold out too.
Surely that tells you something?

Frame Shame!

Welcome to Spring and to any Welsh readers
 Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus!
Happy St David's Day

March already and the nights are already getting shorter.
It's so much nicer doing the school run in the light rather than the dreary dark days of Winter.

March the 1st also means another Counterfeit Kit reveal and I'm
sure you haven't been disappointed with the choice.

I hope you've all said a big "HELLO" to Elaine
(You know, the one who showed us her lovely homemade Christmas jumper in the
blog hop last week) who is our guest this month
and started our hop today (jump back to the beginning, go on I dare you!)
So, onto the kit and a fabulous choice from Cocoa Daisy
and a lovely combination of Spring colours.
I have opted for the gorgeous February 2014 kit "Color Swatch"
and also added a few extras from the add-on selection

                                                            Here we have a breakdown...

  From the kit...                                         Forged...

Here are the items I have made this month...
...which I will show you in more detail on the 8th of the month.

 Introducing
"Frame Shame"
my March Counterfeit Kit
aptly named as I think there are far too many frames in that kit
but I supposed they do have to be used!!!

Thank you for hopping along today, your next stop is Germany
where you'll find Lisa and her (no doubt) fabulous kit.

I love taking my kit to a crop and that's where you'll find me today
happily scrapping, chatting, eating and creating
with some lovely people.
A crop is so much easier with a kit!

Let's Get Meeeeesssssssyyyyyy!

OK, yeah, I've done it before but really not very often
as the tidying up is worse than the doing.
Today's LOAD prompt (and sadly the last for February)
is all about scrapping an unusal style, taking yourself
out of that comfort zone and just going for it.
That was all it took
for me to go all out and get messy...
Paints, stamps, sprays and squirters but then (dun dun duuuuun!)
the spray just made a complete an utter mess,
ruined a piece of lovely MME paper and
I started again.

This time I decided to use a sketch as a guideline
so I could also use it as an entry into a Facebook Group February challenge.

Oh I did have fun, spraying, squirting, daubing and just about anything "ing" really!!!

I really should take myself out of my comfort zone more often
as I had a great time creating the mess!
(if only I had a fairy godmother to tidy up)

Right, tidy up time and packing for tomorrow's CROP DAY!!!!

Rockin' Back

It seems ages since I joined in with Virginia's
Rockin Your World Friday (sorry Virginia)
It's been a strange few weeks with one thing or another - you know those
"things that are sent to try us"
arrrggghhh, they certainly do!!!
Anyway, those two weeks are gone and I'm here to share the highs (and lows) of last week.

Firstly the sad news that my good friend Helen took the very hard decision to have her dog put to sleep.
I'm glad of the decision she made (however hard) as poor Jasper had been struggling with an undiagnosed illness.
Run free Jasper
xoxo

A night with the X Factor finalists on Saturday
and a Hi-5 from my favourite, Luke Friend,
found me whooping and embarrassing DD
(she ain't seen nothing yet!)

Massive gratitude to the lovely waitress in Pizza Hut on Saturday night
for the very kind donation of a hot chocolate to warm up the homeless man.
Every time I go to Manchester,
I try to make a very small difference for a homeless man and his dog.
I only wish I could so much more.

I love recieving a DT parcel from Jen and although the parcel arrived last week
I was finally able to stroke and drool over the goodies
and play with the contents of the
February "12 Pledges" Kit
(WARNING- January's sold out as quick as a flash so get it NOW)
which uses the Authentique Elegant Collection.
Here is 1 out of 4 layouts I have completed using the kit so far.
The colours are so subtle in this new kit that it can be used for anything
as you'll see over the coming days.
Virginia (our Rockin host) will also have layouts to share too.

Our boy came home from his holidays on Anglesey
and settled back in quite nicely.
Loves his holidays but there's no place like home :)

One thing I've been putting off for a while is sorting the bills.
You know, that never ending task of getting the best and cheapest.
First was Sky...
I'd read on a few forums about existing customers getting better deals
by phoning the retentions team and it worked.
I'm now paying 20% less per month
and the lovely guy I was talking too realised I'd been paying £10 too much for 35 months.
£350 better off without even realising :)

Next, was Gas and Electric but it seems I have the best deal there anyway
Telephone and broadband next and a £50 saving over the year.

Not bad for a couple of hours work - go me!

Very grateful to my Daddy this week for fitting a new, more sturdy loft ladder
(oh and getting me the 10% over 60s discount!)
and to DH for having the strength to fit the springs.
The access is now so much better and that "sort loft" (part of my "to do" list)
will hopefully be ticked off soon.

Today is the last day of LOAD :(
I have loved joining in with this and the prompts have certainly made me scrap
some topics and photos that I would never have done if I had not been playing along.
I also joined the ScrapHappy family so a few more LOADs
to come (looking forward to May already ...
My LOAD214 Flickr Gallery shows all the layouts I have completed during February.

This week saw my follower ticker go up to 50 - woohoo!!!
I know, it's not many compared to some/lots of you but
it got me whooping.

A special thank you to my lovely daughter who continues to be the most amazingly
kind and ultra wonderful person.
My back gave way doing the shopping and she helped me through,
lifted, carried and put away.
She is amazing!

So, that's my week, what has rocked yours?
