Tutorial Time!

During the July Counterfeit Kit Reveal
I promised that I would be back to share my tutorials on how to make...

So here I am and here's what I did...

Firstly my attempt at the flower

I found a few different sized round things to cut around
(2 of one size and 3 of smaller sizes)
I then glued all but one large circle into quarters

I then stuck them all centrally onto the larger circle
before adding a brad to finish it off.

Then came the "hello" die cut.
I created my words using a cursive font then mirrored it before printing onto the reverse of the patterned paper and cutting out.
Here are my words if you care to try it out.

Here you can see the word "love" printed back to front on the opposite side of the paper I want to use

and here, cut out from the right side of the paper.

Last but not least is that gorgeous triangle paper.
I was going to ask the child to help me out again (remember that gorgeous doodle paper she created for me?) but unfortunately I left it too late and she is now en route to Spain with school!
So I had my own attempt at doodling on 8.5x11 (no time for 12x12)
I made myself a chipboard triangle as a starting point
and here is how it looks...
(well a little bit of it anyway!)

My only problem now is that I used all my July "Big It Up" before creating these items but I am sure I can make use of them in the future!!!

Tassels & Sparks

The challenge this month over at the
Challenge YOURself blog
is to be inspired by this mood board AND (as always) include a photo of yourself.

Here is a photo of me around age one and I would just love to know what the person behind the camera was telling me to do/or not to do - wouldn't you?
Me now, as a scrapbooking Mum, would be saying, just hold that shot while I get my camera!!!

I was inspired but he colours, the circles and the tassels on the parasols which created my "sparks"

This is another layout completed using my "Big It Up" July Counterfeit Kit - have you made yours yet? How will this mood board inspire you?
You have until August 4th to link up.

Me Time

I've had a fair bit of "me" time lately and have been happily playing along with some challenges.
Sue over at Me & Mine posts a sketch challenge every month and the July one is just up my street and runs until July 31st.

Well I thought so anyway - clean and simple, yes, that's how I like my sketches, that is until I put that bright, bold and very pink background paper to my layout.
Ooh gaudy!!!

Whilst I was doing this layout a friend messaged me asking if I'd used the pegs out of my
Counterfeit Kit.
Don't be silly!
I don't do pegs but you will notice I have included one on this layout (all be it in half!)

I'm slowly killing my "Big It Up" Kit.

Pinterest is Great

...for more than one reason.

I love looking at the boards and getting inspiration BUT I also stalk other people's boards to see their wish lists.

Knowing it was a friend's birthday recently I stalked her boards and found that she liked this...

...so I got to work and made this...

Fingers crossed she hasn't made one already!!!

How Many Can You Count?

is up over on the Counterfeit Kit Blog and the idea is to
use at least 5 triangles on your project.
I think I've probably got more than 5 but if you would care to count them for me?

My background paper is full of the little things but I wanted to use 5 "different" triangles so where are the other 4?
I used a mask and a stamp and I'm also counting the triangles in the photograph as one too!

I then struggled to find where the 5th triangle was - can you spot it?

Ha haaaa - there it is on my "smile' sticker
Phew, thought I'd got it wrong then!
Will you join in with our challenges this month?
You can also be part of our blog hop on the 24th, just let us know that you want to join in.

Three Little Sides

The second challenge for the month of June over at
is to use triangles in a creative way.

Well maybe my layout isn't very creative but it does have triangles!!!
I have used my "Big It Up" Counterfeit Kit to create this layout.

My background was created using my new toy (Cameo) and a free svg file found on Two Peas.
(Get it quick if you want it before the shop shuts down)

I think I'll be getting my money's worth out of that new toy!

Enthusiasm PTIII

My final layout using the June 12 Pledges Kit - Enthusiasm from Wearcrafts
wasn't actually going to be but I had this striped paper left over and wanted to use it up.
Some of the sayings and quotes in this collection didn't fit with photos/layouts but I made them work for me by cutting bits out and using them elsewhere.
The quotes were actually "Splendid Sunshine" and "Blissful Day" so I cut them up and used them how I wanted to use them and not how the manufacturer was telling me to use them.

Unfortunately I think a lot of people could be put of by this BUT it can always be made to work
(somehow!)
Having see Sue's Christmas card on her blog last week I was reminded of all those little eyes I have in my stash so dug them out to highlight my word.

Lastly, with the scraps and a card blank I created a simple little thank you card.

July's kit is just gorgeous, you WILL NOT want to miss it!!!!
