Búsqueda del Tesoro

Well I hope I got that translation right!
Last week I was in Barcelona with my hubby while the child was in the same region on her annual school music trip.
Some of you may remember that last year we surprised her by turning up at one of the concerts
(the look on her face was priceless)
however this year she knew we would be there although she was slightly mortified to find out that her teacher had invited us to join them on their Barcelona bus tour.
(We declined through fear of her never talking to us again!)

Anyway, I wondered if I could complete Rinda's
all in one go, in just 4 days.
So with one list printed, phone and camera at the ready and husband in tow, do you want to see how I did?

1. A sign welcoming people to your home town (or a nearby town)
2. A garden gnome
3. Birds on a wire (Ok just the one!)
4. A group of tourists
5. A rack of post cards
6. An urban street scene
7. A rural landscape
8. A tattoo on a person (weirdo alert!!! If you've got a tattoo, expect photo to be taken!)

9. A bakery
10. A photo bomb (someone found lurking in the background of photo; the lurker may have intended to disrupt the picture or may be doing it unintentionally, but the background lurker is a surprise to the photographer)
(just as a took this photo the moped came into my scene)
11. A horn
12. A mascot
13. A sunrise

You gotta be kidding me!
I wasn't getting up that early on my holiday

14. A parade

FAIL

15. A juggler (yep my own personal juggler!)
16. A sign in a language other than English
17. A lamp post
18. A water fall
19. A public garden
20. A bus (not a car, truck, lorry, camper or RV) with a picture painted on its sides.
21. A photograph of you with something representing the season (Yikes!)

If you find something on the list too difficult, you may substitute one of the following items for anything on the list, except for Item #21:
Alternative A: A kite, hot air balloon or blimp
Alternative B: A bird house

I didn't get the alternatives either to make up for my two fails but hey not a bad shot in four days!

I will of course still be completing it the normal way and you can where I'm up to HERE

A wonderful few days, just us, me and him, no child, no dog.
And we're still talking!!!
Cheers everyone!

Tech3

My assigned challenge this month over at the
Counterfeit Kit Blog
is
by using at least 3 techniques on our project.

During the Easter holidays, the child and I headed up to the North East of England
to meet (it was a surprise) the lovely Jen from Wearcrafts.

She releases her 12 Pledges Kits at the end of every month.
The small kit if a fiver and you can generally create at least 3 layouts and a card from that!

I was overwhelmed with the welcome she gave us and we chatted for hours
before meeting up again later that night.
We had to get a photo although Jen wasn't too impressed as she hadn't done her hair!!!

The 3 techniques I have used are stamping, stencilling and die cutting.

I am sure you will all come up with some fancy, fandabulous techniques but I just kept it simple.
Don't forget, we love to see your creations so be sure to link up.

One (How Many Times?)

Carrying on the "One" theme from last week
this week, is asking us to share our No.1 photos.
Whether it be the word or the digit
they want to see our 1s.

My first No1 is on this very precious
gift that my Dad gave me this week,
a watch that used to belong to his Dad,
a man I was never fortunate enough to know.
I was really touched when he asked if I would like it.

This "one" was above a door in Old Town
Barcelona. I wonder how old this sign is?

And this one is just fab don't you think?
There were 2 & 3 also but you only asked for 1s!

Two More

is well an truly underway now and I finally found the Facebook Group.
I haven't actually posted any photos on there as yet but it is lovely to see them as they appear on my timeline.
Last week I ventured into Wales to take the child to see James Blunt.
No I didn't before you ask!
I met my Mum and Dad, the weather was beautiful and we strolled along the promenade and to the end of the pier where I happily snapped a few shots to add to my 2014 collection..

16. A sign in a language other than English
 and more

17.  lamp posts
the councils are adding spikes to the top of lights to stop the seagulls landing and doing their business on them (ouch!)

19. A public (remembrance) garden

I have loads more to find yet and have a list stored in my phone.
How do you remember what photos you need to capture?

Punky Gone Soft

I don't know about you but I think Punky Scraps has gone soft!!
Just look at the colour palette for this month's challenge.
How will you be inspired - the colours, the grid, the layers?
Whatever inspires you, white space is also a must for this challenge.

OK, white space, black space - same thing right?
I was inspired by the colours and the soft swirlyness of the text box up there (middle bottom)

I used June's counterfeit kit to create my layout and used chalks and a mask to create my title.

Go on, be inspired and join in with us and link up so we know you're playing along.

No.21

Little did I know that when I received my last kit from Wearcrafts, Jen had added a few sheets of
Bo Bunny - The Avenues
for me to play with.
Time hasn't been on my side for a few days but I didn't want to leave this little lot in that bag any longer.
These papers are gorgeous and absolutely perfect for a photo I took of my Dad a couple of years ago at No21.
You see, he lived there in that terraced with his family for years so when I heard that the whole street was to be demolished I got in touch with the local council to see if we could go in just one last time.
They obliged and gave us the key.
It was amazing listening to my Dad telling me the stories of the happenings in that house and showing me where the bomb shelter was and pointing out the original bits and bobs of decor.

So, as you can see, perfect papers for my layout of this captured moment.

I went back just after the demolition and salvaged one of the original bricks for him too.
