Oldest!

Challenge #3 for this month's Counterfeit Kit is...

Everything Old Is New Again
Showcase the oldest item in your kit in a new & fresh way!

I'm not actually sure which part of my kit is the oldest if I'm honest
so I'll have to pretend (is that allowed?)

I am really not sure which part of my kit is the oldest
(maybe I should've paid more attention to the challenge before putting my kit together)
but I guess the papers would be at least two years old.

With this in mind I found a geometric pattern

and by cutting the pattern from one of my 12x12 sheets
and the same pattern from my photograph
I was able to substitute the parts of paper with parts from my photo that I wanted to include.

Although I haven't really "showcased" my oldest item, I hope I have inspired you
to cut into your paper and photos and use them in a more up to date and funky way!!!

Now if only I could do that with my body...

Until the next time - keep scrapping!

(Not So Creative) FOF

If you are wondering what FOF is, let me help you out...

Forgeries on the Fourth is a Counterfeit Kit monthly post
where the Master Forgers attempt to inspire you to create your own elements, papers, alphas etc

You can find the post HERE so you can see what some of the other MFs have created
but not before you have seen how easy it can be to create your own matching chipboard
pieces to coordinate with your kit.
(Although not especially creative, it is helpful when you want to match up and you don't have the "just the right bit")

Firstly I die cut some random shapes...

Then chose a sheet of double sided paper to coordinate with my kit and die cut
the exact same shapes...

So I now have the choice of paper sides to stick to my chipboard

I also painted some shapes before stencilling over the top to create different effects.

There must be many ways to decorate your shapes, how will you do yours?

Link up and show us, I look forward to seeing your creations...

HB2Me!!!

It was on this exact day 3 years ago (my 43rd birthday) that I received the news from Bethany
that I had been selected to be part of the Counterfeit Kit Design Team.

I am delighted to say that today, my 46th birthday, I'm back!!!
 (for a little while)
Thank you Lisa for the encouragement.

So you will probably have joined me from Kelly's blog.

If not and you haven't got a clue what I'm talking about then why not jump back to the beginning of the hop where you can see how
Salla
this month's Guest Designer has interpreted June's Counterfeit Kit which is...

HipKit Club May 2016

There are a few options to choose from but I decided on the main kit which looks like this...

There are a fair few Hip Kit Club exclusives but nothing that will phase us Counterfeiters eh!?

I chose my favourite side of each of the papers to counterfeit.

HIP KIT CLUB-MAY 16                         MY FORGERIES

and I've thrown in some Amy Tangerine Goodness Thickers for good measure (because I can!)

I have thoroughly enjoyed putting my June Kit together and,
as today is my birthday (did I mention that!!??),
I present to you...

Now, it's the Blue Box you have all been waiting for, what goodies will Leslie
be hiding in there this month?
Go see...

Quick!!!!

This really is a quickie as I promised to join in with Sue's sketch
over on her blog Me and Mine and the cut off is TODAY!!!!!

I was overjoyed this week when Sue came "oop north" and Jemma (Jimjams) and I
had the chance to meet up with her on a little jaunt to Liverpool.

We sat and ate before taking a bus tour of the city and learning a thing or two
that we didn't know before.

So, what better way to join in with Sue's sketch than with a photo of the 3 of us
aboard the top deck of the red bus and aptly named after a Beatles song...

Here's the sketch if you have a spare evening to get stuck into some scrapbooking but don't forget to link it up on Sue's blog HERE

If you haven't got time, Sue will have another sketch up at the beginning of May
so why not join in then?

Very Insta!!!

Well all those frames in my kit certainly came in handy for...

CH#3 - Insta Inspiration

Create An Instagram Inspired Mini. Create a small, but perfectly formed mini to show off those dinky, little photographs of your lunches :) Or be inspired by the square format. Or create a little collection of some recent favourites!

The Child hates this layout but as scrapbookers we have to chronicle every part
of our lives don't we?

How will you interpret the challenge set by the Counterfeit Team?

All that is left for me to say is thanks for having me back it really did get my creativity flowing again
for a short time and it's boosted my blog posts that's for sure!!!

Wordy!

When I saw the criteria of Challenge Two for this month's Counterfeit Kit I could have cried!!!
Not because it was difficult
but because I had created the perfect layout last month which you can see HERE
all based around a newspaper.
So now I had to come up with something else for...

Challenge #2 Media Studies

Use Print Media (newspapers, magazines, junk mail, catalogues) as the starting point for a layout. Colours, words, layout, even the story. could all be a source of inspiration.

I decided I would be very "wordy" and create
my journalling using all those word stickers in my kit...

This layout is also my entry for Susan's March Sketch Challenge
Susan has a new sketch challenge every month
and you could win one of her lovely kits if you link up to her blog,

So there we have it, two challenges in one, why don't you join in both too?

Pin-teresting Layout!

So we've created our kits, forged a thing or two and now it's time to join in with the challenges.
Are you with us? Let's go for it...

Challenge #1 - May You Live In Pin-teresting Times

Base a project on something spotted on Pinterest.
But, here's the twist, it can't be a craft project (so no layouts, minis or mixed media as inspiration.)
Look for inspiration in home decor, architecture, quotes, etc, instead.

When I first open Pinterest I see lots of pins "chosen for me"
and I really have no idea why this one came up

as I am in no way religious
but it has inspired me to create
so maybe Pinterest can mind read now!!!

You can find the original pin is HERE

So I got to work cutting out my letters on my trusty Cameo and creating my background stripes from slicing up some of my journalling cards and came with this...

My daughter looked so beautiful on Prom night last year and this layout showcases the fact that
nobody needs to spend hundreds of pounds on a dress when a £4.50 outfit does
just the same!!!

What non-crafting Pin will inspire you to create today?
