A Lovely Day

What a lovely day I've had.
Spending time with my family is something we don't do enough of but then it makes it all the more enjoyable when we do.

The 7 of us (Mum, Dad, Aunty Shaz, Uncle John and Us3) has a wonderful lunch at the Egerton Arms. I would highly recommend this place for a delicious home cooked meal with a great atmosphere . Even better when Mum and Dad are paying :)

On from there we went for a photo shoot with Jane Briscoe-Price. I've been wanting to get us all together for some family photographs for a long time. We had great fun (I don't do sitting and posing) and I hope there will be some great shots to look at in couple of weeks time...

Did You Miss Me Yesterday???

... OK, Probably not but I'm going to tell you what I was up to anyway...
Yesterday was "Open Day" at Primary School and all the children dressed up in "through the decades" costumes. As I was going to be there all day I thought I'd join in and decided to become a "Hippie Chick" for the day.
Don't laugh....

So moving onto today and I've been "ageing" folders to put all the old school photos in.
Over the last three or four weeks, I've been sorting out about 200 photographs which were found at school. I've been scanning, copyrighting and sorting them into some kind of order ready for yesterday's open day. None of the class photos, some dating back to the 40s had names on them so we asked those who attended the open day to point people out if them knew the faces. It was a great success and we  now have some names to match the faces :)

Here are the new albums...

I wanted them to look old due to the age of the photographs in them. The original albums were battered and broken so I hope I've done the photos justice...

Packaging!!!

Does anybody else get fed up with packaging?

Maybe I'm just turning into a grumpy old woman but when UPS delivered some stash this morning, I though that maybe he had the wrong parcel.

It definitely was my parcel but I couldn't quite believe the size of the box. The amount of crumpled brown paper inside the box that I had to remove before I got to my goodies was never ending and the dog though it was great fun - a new game!!!

Do you think this was slightly excessive...

for this...?

I'm quite taken my the hexagon embossing folder and my new pennant punch will be ideal for many a project. The divided page protectors will be useful for all those little holiday photos that don't deserve a full page.

As for the brown paper and box...

Card Day

Amongst other things, today I've been catching up on my card making. My sister gives me a list of cards every year with themes etc and I usually leave it until the last minute to make them.

Not this year...
I'm done until the end of April :)

Here are just a few of them...
(I hope none of her friends/family follow my blog :O)

She Did It!

SHE - being jimjams has finally got into my head with her clearing out.

I mention last week on Jemma's blog that I would sort out my massive pile of makeup.

Another week has gone by and she's mentioned me by name and shamed me into doing something!!!!

I hope you're proud of yourself J? (I am!!)

Massive stash of makeup

Here's what's going in the bin

Keeping this to recycle !

And off to the bin you go...

Manic Monday

Today turned into a very busy day. With one thing and another, I don't know where the day has gone.

I suddenly realised at 9.30pm that I hadn't blogged :(

Luckily I'd been playing with papers yesterday so quickly took some photos and here they are...

This one was a bit of an experiment and I hate it when the paper goes all wrinkly after using sprays.

and this one shows the story of DH teaching DD how to blow water (really!!!!)

I think the top right picture of DH should be in Doctor Who or some scary movie!!!

Just Love a Good Crop Day

Yesterday was Crop Day.

I so look forward to Crop Day as, although I'm very lucky that I can more or less do some every day at home, I enjoy spending my time with some lovely people who have the same interests.

I even managed to cut down on my usually massive stash that I take along thanks to my February Counterfeit Kit. OK so I know there's a lot there but you should see what I usually take.

I managed 4 pages yesterday (one of which I will keep for a later date) including my entry for the Purple Pumpkin February Sketch Challenge which I will show you first.

My daughter was so scared of the fact there maybe little creatures in the grass that her feet hardly touched the ground. Even when she stopped to wait for us to catch up she was running on the spot!!!

The next two, still using my kit, are just my own without following any sketches/challanges (which I haven't done for a while now)

The layout above depicts the standing joke on our holiday last year where nearly everyday we would eat our cereal out of square plastic bowls and make cheese rolls in the morning to have a picnic along the way. DD hates it when the cheese gets a bit warm. Following the west coast of America we were lucky to see some of the biggest Redwoods in the world but by the time we'd seen one or two, DD just rolled her eyeballs every time we said we would be seeing more!!!

I love our family holidays and (mostly) enjoy every minute of them. I try to get lots of photos of us as a family and I love this one taken on one of the many beaches as we travelled down the coast.
